Art and Sculpture
There is a long and distinguished history of green spaces as the subject of art, from the carved murals of the Assyrians, Egyptian wall paintings and the frescos at Pompeii, through the Renaissance and the Landscape Movement, to the paintings of Monet, Klimpt, Schiele, Klee and Hockney.
Parks and open spaces also provide an important setting and stage for sculpture and public art.
Here are some examples I have had the opportunity to photograph.
